Needed for this recipe:
1 head of butter lettuce, cleaned, dried and torn into pieces
2 fresh pears
4 Tablespoons Sunshine Coast Olive Oil Co. Comice Pear White Balsamic
4 Tablespoons Sunshine Coast Olive Oil Co. Blood Orange Olive oil (Agrumato-style)
Fresh ground pepper (optional)
Goat cheese, crumbled.
Half your unpeeled pears by slicing them lengthwise from top to bottom. Then section them lengthwise, aiming for about 8-10 slices per pear. Brush them all over with Blood Orange Olive Oil (you will use up about a Tablespoon)
Prepare your grill to a medium heat. Oil your grill.
Grill pears about 5 minutes each side, until grill mars appear and the pieces are tender throughout. Before flipping, you could do a quick grind of fresh pepper (optional). Set aside and let cool slightly.
Mix remaining oil and balsamic. Use half and toss with the butter lettuce.
Place each serving of butter lettuce on a plate, and top with pears and goat cheese. Drizzle with remaining dressing. Serve warm or at room temperature.
**If serving the pears as a side dish, ditch the sugar and add some freshly ground black pepper instead.**
