BAKING WITH OLIVE OIL INSTEAD OF BUTTER – HANDY SUBSTITUTION CHART

Baking with olive oil dramatically cuts the saturated fat level of your favourite breads or sweets.    Also, you use less olive oil than other fats, so you reduce the overall calories of baked goods. If you want to butter flavour, try Sunshine Coast Olive oil Co. 100% dairy-free ‘Butter’ Infused Olive Oil.

We have had great success using olive oil in biscotti, cakes, bread, pizza dough, flat breads, quick breads and more.  If your recipe calls for butter, try this chart as a best estimate for substituting olive oil (flavoured or not) in recipes that call for butter.
