Caprese Salad with a Canadian Twist

Red and white are Canadian colours, eh?  So why not add a maple twist to this classic dish?

 

Needed for this recipe:

Sunshine Coast Olive Oil Co. Basil Olive Oil

Sunshine Coast Olive Oil Co. Maple Aged Dark Balsamic Vinegar

• Morton and Basset Tricolour Peppercorns (you need a grinder)

optional: serve on one of our olive wood boards

 

Ingredients:

• Tomato slices

• Soft Mozzarella, Sliced

• Sunshine Coast Olive Oil Co. Basil Olive Oil

• Sunshine Coast Olive Oil Co. Maple Aged Dark Balsamic Vinegar

• Fresh basil leaves

• Morton and Basset Tricolour Peppercorns (you need a grinder)

 

Method:

This is a ‘no need to measure’ recipe.  Just slice tomatoes and cheese in equal amounts, then layer on a serving dish (such as one of our olive wood boards).  Combine oil and vinegar and drizzle over top.  Garnish with basil leaves.  Sprinkle with fresh ground peppercorns.  Serve and enjoy!
